I'm interested -- what about Colin's reaction to the taunt is inauthentic? And what would someone say instead of "found innocent"?

I'm okay with the perhaps not entirely IC lyricism of the opening chapter, because it's designed not so much to portray actual talk as it is to express the ideas.
