It shouldn't be confusing; I'll have a look and see if I can untwist it a bit, it got rewritten and may have been garbled. The point is that Colm is sort of like a place he can go for rest -- Colm doesn't protect him, but he can withdraw into it and let Colin take a beating. I'll work on it. :D
