I think "fuck" has the right impact here, because she hasn't used that kind of language before, and it definitely shows her outrage. It gets your attention. But the structure of that line seems awkward to me too; I've never heard that construction before. "Couldn't be fucking bothered..." or "Couldn't fucking bother to.."?
