A lot of people seemed to be expecting more fuss about takeoff *nods* I'll have to look into that. I made it unfussy on purpose -- like getting in a car for a trip after you've spent two days packing it up -- but perhaps someone in the story needs to remark on it. :)

To be honest, the reason I didn't go into navigation more thoroughly is that I have no effing clue how it works, aside from "North star means north" :D Sextants are gorgeous but they baffle me completely. So I thought I'd rather leave it alone than get it wrong, you know?
