Jack is eager to investigate the camera and then the camera exits stage left and Jack's interest with it. I was expecting some kind of pay off as Jack is usually portrayed as single minded when it comes to exploring new technology.
I also had a problem with the phrase about dusk waning which I have a hard time imagining for some reason (waning as opposed to falling etc).
