I've always wondered if I ought to take that bit out. It's weird renaming a character 9/10ths of a way through a novel, anyway. I'm still toying with the idea. Murra-Clare is a bit sensible for the moment -- it's a moment of big drama and big gestures -- but I might have him talk to her beforehand or something.
