For the phone - Joseph is an undercover cop. He would be theoretically be given something that can take high res pictures, esp after getting the warrant. I did a report on hidden cameras, once - they're way too commonplace, no? Or even just a "shined his flashlight onto the report and then took pictures with his phone" kind of thing. It seems too dark for a cell. Or he could just have a real camera hidden away on his person.
