I am loving this story and its pacing. However, at the risk of sounding snarky, I keep tripping up over the geography. In this map (http://streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?x=546500&y=258500&z=120&sv=cambridge&st=3&tl=Map+of+Cambridge,+Cambridgeshire+[City/Town/Village]&searchp=ids.srf&mapp=map.srf), the red arrow points to Cambridge. Zoom out and look at the distance south to the coast of the English Channel (which we just call The Channel). One third of the journey would have had them passing over London. Another third over our house all the way down here in Horsham (http://streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?x=517500&y=131500&z=120&sv=Horsham&st=3&tl=Map+of+Horsham,+West+Sussex+[City/Town/Village]&searchp=ids.srf&mapp=map.srf) which is half way between London and Brighton. Maybe instead they fly over London or the Thames? Maybe he has invented jet engines to go that far in such a short time? Cambridge is quite a long way in land.

Look, I am sorry to be such a pedant about this, but if you set this somewhere recognisable like Cambridge and London, you cannot just move cities like that! I am seriously only trying to help and almost never snark without a smiley. Most of my comments here are pure initial reactions, even if they sound snarky to you. Yes, I may be on the Aspergers spectrum like my hubby (although undiagnosed) but I am only noting my initial gut reactions to the text, even if they might sometimes seem abrupt.

Anyway, unless you want me to stop I will continue to enjoy this story. If you would like me to stop adding English/British reactions to your text, please do tell me to. If, however, you would like me t continue to British-beta in this way, I will be happy to. I love your writing and love this story & characters.
