The differences between services are very true to life; being a military brat, I had that feeling with every new move.
I find it interesting that the Divine Father and Graveworthy are on such good terms. Are they friends? Colleagues? Jovial adversaries? Will we even know in this book?
"Things with Graveworthy could be tense at times..." A) I don't know that we've seen much of that. The tension seems to mostly be between Graveworthy and Clare, except for the bit about Jack's past. Maybe play that part up a bit, or put in a few more examples of Jack feeling the tension? B) I'm hoping this foreshadows the long trip to Australia (I suspect it does) since we won't have an Anderson (more's the pity).
I like that there are still things to fix, on that first flight - it's not all perfect! Speed and landing: he's very bright to think of firing the propellers for added control, but he thinks of it so fast... If he hadn't built it, I'd find it jarringly unlikely, and even so, it gave me a pause.
I may have laughed aloud at Anderson's shouting and earned some funny looks from my coworkers. :D I love that man.
I really appreciate the female doctor - I don't know how many people will notice, but I did! Thank you!
I see that Jack is under the Adventurer's Creed: Never too much rope. Good man.
